Generic ED medicines explained
Most erectile dysfunction medicines sold online are generics: the same active ingredient as Viagra, Cialis or Levitra, made by another manufacturer under its own brand name. This page explains what that means, who makes the best-known brands, and how the different forms compare.
What “generic” means
A generic contains the same active ingredient at the same strength as the original brand. The tablet’s colour, shape and inactive ingredients (fillers, coatings, flavours) can differ, and so can the packaging. Many of the generics sold worldwide are made in India, where they carry their own brand names. That is why the same medicine appears under several names:
- Sildenafil (the ingredient of Viagra): Kamagra, made by Ajanta Pharma, and Cenforce, made by Centurion Laboratories.
- Tadalafil (Cialis): Vidalista, also by Centurion Laboratories.
- Vardenafil (Levitra): Vilitra, Centurion Laboratories.
- Avanafil (Stendra): Avana, Sunrise Remedies.

The forms suit people who find tablets hard to swallow or want something discreet to carry. The active ingredient and strength are what matter for the effect, so compare those first.
Combination tablets
Some generics combine an ED medicine with dapoxetine, a short-acting medicine for premature ejaculation, such as Cenforce D and Tadapox. One combines two ED medicines, sildenafil and tadalafil (Tadasiva).
